Terms of Use and Sale
Effective date: September 1, 2026 Version: 1.0
These Terms govern the Outwork Robotics website, accounts, Outwork Programmer, products, downloads, and event registrations. By creating an account, completing a checkout, or submitting an event registration, the user agrees to the current version presented at that action.
Eligibility and accounts
Users must be at least 13 years old. Users must provide accurate information, keep credentials secure, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. One person may not impersonate another, evade a suspension, probe another account, or use the service unlawfully. Outwork may require email confirmation and security checks.
Products, availability, and orders
Product descriptions, images, compatibility information, event details, prices, and availability may be corrected before purchase. An order is accepted when Outwork or its payment provider confirms the transaction; an automated acknowledgment alone does not require fulfillment of an obvious pricing, inventory, or technical error. If Outwork cannot safely fulfill a captured payment, it will correct the issue or refund the affected amount. Quantity limits may be imposed.
Digital-product license
A completed digital purchase grants the purchasing account a personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to use the purchased instructions or files for the purpose stated on the product page. Unless Outwork gives written permission, the purchaser may not share, redistribute, resell, sublicense, publicly post, modify, create derivative digital files from, remove notices from, or commercially exploit the purchased files. Ownership of the files and underlying intellectual property is not transferred. A purchaser may modify a physical robot or physical build made for personal use; that permission does not allow modification or redistribution of the purchased digital files.
Prices, fees, taxes, and payment
Prices are stated in U.S. dollars. Available processing fees, shipping charges, discounts, and taxes are shown before payment. Stripe or PayPal processes payment under its own terms. By submitting payment, the customer authorizes the displayed total. Outwork collects and remits sales tax when required based on the information available at checkout.
Shipping territory and timing
At launch, physical products ship only to eligible addresses in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. International destinations, U.S. territories, and APO/FPO/DPO addresses are not supported unless checkout expressly offers them. Delivery availability and any estimate shown at checkout depend on the destination, inventory, and carrier. Delivery dates are estimates rather than guarantees.
Outwork will have a reasonable basis for any stated shipment time. If no shipment time is stated, Outwork expects to ship a properly completed order within 30 days. If Outwork cannot ship within the promised period, it will provide any notice, cancellation choice, and refund required by applicable law. Responsibility for physical loss transfers to the customer when the carrier records delivery to the address provided, subject to the defective, damaged-on-arrival, incorrect-item, and lost-in-transit rules in the Refund and Return Policy.
Terms - events, content, and conduct
CRBL events and registration
Current CRBL events are independent LEGO-compatible robot competitions hosted within third-party LEGO conventions and consist of robots built with LEGO elements. Outwork Robotics is an independent third-party organization and is not affiliated with, sponsored, authorized, or endorsed by the LEGO Group. Outwork products are designed for compatibility with certain LEGO elements and electronics, and references to LEGO describe that compatibility or the event format; Outwork does not claim to be the LEGO brand or offer official LEGO products or events. LEGO is a trademark of the LEGO Group. A submitted registration may be pending, approved, waitlisted, denied, or withdrawn. Submission does not guarantee acceptance, a match, a schedule position, or admission to the host convention. Outwork may continue accepting late submissions as waitlisted entries after a stated deadline when additional robots may improve scheduling. Registration and saved cart records do not automatically expire with time.
Each registration requires the account holder to affirm being at least 13, accept these Terms, and provide a real, confirmed account email. Questions marked for public display may be published after approval. A pending entry cannot be edited or withdrawn through the user interface; an approved entry can be withdrawn. The user may contact Outwork to request correction of a pending submission.
Event rules and safety
Competitors must follow the published event rules, weight limits, inspection decisions, battery and tool procedures, arena instructions, host-convention rules, and directions from event staff. Participants must use reasonable care and may not intentionally endanger people, damage the venue, bypass barriers, conceal a hazardous condition, harass others, or interfere with event operations. Outwork may reject, waitlist, remove, disqualify, or stop an entry or activity when reasonably necessary for safety, fairness, scheduling, rule enforcement, or venue requirements.
Competitor media permission
As a condition of competing, the registering account holder grants Outwork permission to photograph, record, livestream, edit, reproduce, publish, and use the participant's name, likeness, voice, robot, approved public answers, and event participation on outworkrobotics.com, the Outwork Robotics YouTube channel, social media, promotional or educational materials, and event archives without additional compensation. Outwork is not required to blur, crop, or otherwise obscure the participant's identity. Host LEGO conventions or venues separately administer spectator admission and general spectator-media practices under their own terms.
User content and intellectual property
The user retains ownership of original content submitted to Outwork. The user grants Outwork a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the requested account, product, event, public-answer, or media feature. The user represents that the content may lawfully be submitted and used in that way.
Users may not upload unlawful, dangerous, deceptive, infringing, malicious, or privacy-invasive content. Outwork may remove material or suspend access when reasonably necessary. A copyright complaint should identify the protected work, the allegedly infringing material and its location, the complainant's contact information, a good-faith statement, a statement of accuracy and authority, and a physical or electronic signature, and should be emailed to outwork.robotics@gmail.com.
Terms - disclaimers and disputes
Service changes and availability
Outwork may improve, correct, suspend, or discontinue a website feature, product, or event offering. Outwork will not intentionally remove a paid digital entitlement without providing an appropriate remedy. Beta features, including Outwork Programmer while restricted to authorized testers, may change and may contain errors.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website, beta tools, digital files, and event information are provided "as is" and "as available." Outwork does not promise uninterrupted access, error-free software, compatibility with every device or component, or any particular competitive result. Physical products remain subject to the express return and defect remedies in the Refund and Return Policy and to rights that applicable law does not permit Outwork to exclude.
Robotics, tools, batteries, moving parts, and competitive events involve foreseeable risks of property damage and personal injury even when rules are followed. Damage to robots and components is an expected part of robot combat, and damage alone does not require a fight or use of the robot to stop. Users remain responsible for following instructions, using suitable protective practices, inspecting their equipment, and obeying venue and event staff. A Juicebox or another product used in a robot involving a lithium-polymer (LiPo) battery must not continue to be operated while damage, excessive heat, swelling, smoke, unusual odor, exposed cells or wiring, a suspected short circuit, or another condition indicates that continued operation may be unsafe. Event staff may pause or end a fight and may require a robot, product, or battery to be removed or isolated when reasonably necessary for safety. Nothing in these Terms waives liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Outwork will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising from the service, a product, or an event. For a claim that applicable law permits to be limited, Outwork's total liability will not exceed the amount the claimant paid Outwork for the specific product, registration, or service giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury caused by conduct that cannot lawfully be limited, or any other liability that law prohibits limiting.
Disputes and governing law
Before filing a claim, the parties should make a good-faith effort to resolve it by emailing outwork.robotics@gmail.com with enough detail to investigate. These Terms are governed by Virginia law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where federal law or a nonwaivable consumer law applies. A court proceeding must be brought in a state court serving Prince William County, Virginia, or the applicable federal court in Virginia, unless nonwaivable law requires another forum. These Terms do not require arbitration and do not contain a class-action or jury-trial waiver.
General terms
Outwork is not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control, but will provide refunds or cancellation rights required by law. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. A user may not assign these Terms without written permission; Outwork may assign them with a lawful business transfer. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund and Return Policy, any product-specific terms, and published event rules form the agreement for the applicable activity. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including payment, license restrictions, records, disclaimers, liability limits, and disputes—will survive.
